It didnt fit tight Had never seen a banjo like that before. The pickups were good on my Tempest, but I went ahead and installed some hotter ones (Just my preference). I was looking at a Morgan yesterday that had a cover over the back opening. If I were you I would hang onto this guitar for a long time. Don't know if he ever got it, & I don't think it's worth that kind of money yet. I saw one guy on ebay trying to sell his for $3,000 plus. The guitar plays beautiful and (in my opinion) will be a collectors item someday because there are so few.

I own one that looks just like yours - same color / flame, everything. So Morgan Monroe stopped making & selling them. According to a guitar salesman, when the guitars hit the stores they were "flying under the radar" for a while until PRS threatened to sue them for copyright (don't know if that is true, but that's what was relayed to me). From the mother of pearl inlay on a dark ebony fingerboard to the gorgeous flamed resonator, this instrument really stands out from the crowd. The Duelington combines aesthetic beauty with precision craftsmanship for a world class banjo that is truly a pleasure to see, hear and own. Suspiciously, the Tempest looks just like a PRS. T he Morgan Monroe MB-9 Duelington Deluxe is our Top of the Line banjo. Several years ago they decided to get into the electric guitar market and came up with the Tempest (they may have a couple other electric models out there from that time also - I'm not sure). Morgan Monroe is a big name in acoustic instruments (think bluegrass - guitars, mandolins, etc). So, ANYBODY know anything about these? Thanks for any help or info! I've been playing it for close to a week now and it seems a really quality axe. Also, the guitar has a carved maple green quilt top, set neck, stopbar tailpiece, tune-o-matic bridge, really nice rosewood neck w/ great action, and tuners stay in tune. The open coil hums are amazing (I don't know if these pickups are stock or not, but they are definitely keepers). I was amazed when I picked it up and played it. I had never heard of Morgan Monroe before, but it's really a quality instrument. Can't find much on the net about it, though. It's a really nice guitar for the price I paid. Stumbled upon this and bought it immediately after playing it for about ten minutes. Taking the name from one of the most historic areas in Chapel Hill, Morgan Creek promises to deliver hard driving bluegrass and that high lonesome sound anywhere, anytime.Hey guys - I know this is probably the wrong thread for the PRS copy I just picked up (I tried the "Other Guitars" section but no takers.), but was just wondering if anybody knows anything about my new (used) Morgan Monroe Tempest I got last week at GC in the used section.

The band is scheduled to appear in Manteo/OBX at the Dare County Arts Council First Friday Music Series.
